And so, after a fun night at Grandma and Poppy's it was time to head home and wait for the fat man to arrive. We'd been tracking his progress all day and when he started hitting stops in South America the boys did not want to chance it and asked to go to bed! We put out the milk, cookies, reindeer food, left some notes and then it was off to dreamland. Shawn and Dad slept in the guest room and Ryan and I slept in my room. (don't ask). By some miracle my over excited kids slept until almost 8 am before we came down to see what was under the tree. And we were not disappointed. We started with Santa presents, moved onto stockings and then started opening the gifts under the tree. It was over way too quickly. Sigh.
But before too long Gram and Pappy showed up with some reinforcements. And we started all over again with the ripping and the tearing and the exchanging of presents. Gram got Pappy a box of K cups to keep at our house to use in our new Keurig. But wouldn't you know it, the next present Pappy openened was their very own Keurig! So those K cups went home with them. Gram had no idea they were getting one for their house. How funny. And the boys and Pappy did their annual exchange of Hello Kitty items. The boys got pez and Pappy got some HK pens.
After the excitement died down we had a yummy lunch cooked by Dad. And then started to play with our new stuff. The kids loved all their presents and so did mom and dad. Thanks to Gram and Pappy for everything! What a great Christmas!!
