As you may have noticed birthdays in this family are not a one day event. Celebrations usually start early and carry on well past one's actual birthday. And this year is no exception for Ryan. His birthday is still 10 days away, but Grandma and Poppy came up tonight to kick off his 10th birthday celebration right. First we had some presents. Ryan got the complete Calvin and Hobbes collection. Which he loved. He comes home every week with a new C&H book he checks out from the school library. Now maybe he'll branch out to other books during library time at school. And if that wasn't enough, Grandma and Poppy got Ryan his very own iPod touch! And Grandmom Weezie got him some itunes gift cards so he can buy his very own apps and games and music and whatever else he wants. Very proud that his first purchase was Potty Racers. He is still a 9 (almost 10) yr old boy after all. After presents, Grandma and Poppy treated us all to a delicious early dinner at Outback Steak House. Ryan picked it because they have the best chicken tenders and fries. At Outback STEAK house. But who's complaining? Not us. No way! Ryan is super excted about his presents. And wants to thank Grandma, Poppy and Grandmom Weezie very much! He sure is a lucky boy.
