That's a lot of snow! They'd been calling for record breaking snow for a few days and on the evening of Feb 5th, it started! Mom wimped out of work and the boys got out of school early and we all settled in to wait. By Friday evening it was coming down, but when we woke up on Saturday. Whoa. We had a lot of snow on the ground. And because of the wind, it had blown up on the sliding glass door. Getting the dogs out was quite an adventure. I think they tracked about a foot of snow into the house. That's ok though, there was PLENTY more where that came from. We even had to give Jango a quick bath to get the snow balls off of him. Dad's back was hurting so Mom asked our neighbor to help clear our driveway. He helped get most of the snow off of one side with his snow blower and Mom shoveled some more. The boys had a great time playing in it all day. It all stopped by about 4 PM on Saturday and the sun even came out for a little bit. Thank goodness it didn't keep going until midnight like they first predicted. I don't think we could have handled anymore.
On Sunday morning, Uncle Greg and his neighbor, Gary, came over to help us finish digging out. How awesome of them! Now we could get out, if our street ever gets plowed. We've had two calls from the county today. One to tell us that schools are closed tomorrow. Duh. The other to ask citizens to stop calling 911 to find out when their roads will be plowed. HA! My guess is that my work will open on time tomorrow. Yuck. Oh, and they're calling for more snow Tuesday and Wednesday. Oy.
